What is Vietnamese Missions Institute?
VMI Mission
The churches of Christ exalt Christ as King. Our mission at VMI is to prepare people for hearing the Gospel, celebrating baptism and receiving the Holy Spirit; strengthen churches, and provide resources for the evangelization of Vietnamese communities.
We seek to accomplish this mission by:
  • Teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ.
  • Encouraging the establishment of local churches of Christ wherever they are needed.
  • Training and coaching preachers, elders, teachers, and other Christian workers.
  • Providing Bible, preaching, and leadership materials from Sunset International Bible Institute, ThroughTheScriptures.com, and WorldEvangelism.org.
  • Supporting Vietnamese and minority-language Bible translation projects.
  • Teaching English to build relationships and create opportunities for Bible study.
  • Researching the spiritual and practical needs of Vietnamese people throughout the world.
  • Connecting interested congregations with Vietnamese mission opportunities.

What is Vietnamese Missions Institute?
Our Story: Christ’s Vision—The Churches’ Mission
The Vietnamese Missions Institute (VMI) www.vmi.ac exists to encourage the fulfillment the Great Commission among Vietnamese people in Vietnam and throughout the world.
Jesus commanded the Great Commission: "He said to them, 'Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned'." —Mark 16:15-16, NIV
Over 90 million Vietnamese people go to sleep each night without knowing Jesus Christ. VMI works to bring the gospel to them through Bible teaching, leadership development, English education, translation projects, research, and cooperation with local churches of Christ.
VMI is a ministry of Christians in both Vietnam, USA, and other countries who want to help congregations, preachers, teachers, and individual disciples carry out Christ’s mission. The New Testament church belongs to Christ, and each local congregation should follow His Word under its own qualified leadership. Christ is our King and why we worship as churches of Christ.

16 Vậy, ta sẽ cho đánh đòn người ấy rồi thả ra. 16 I will therefore chastise him, and release him. 17 Theo lệ thường, cứ đến dịp lễ, ông phải thả một tù nhân cho họ. 17 (For of necessity he must release one unto them at the feast.) 18 Cả đám đông đồng thanh la lớn: “Hãy loại bỏ người này và thả Barabbas cho chúng tôi!” 18 And they cried out all at once, saying, Away with this man, and release unto us Barabbas: 19 Hắn bị giam vì tội nổi loạn trong thành và tội giết người. 19 (Who for a certain sedition made in the city, and for murder, was cast into prison.) 20 Philatô lại nói với họ vì muốn thả Đức Chúa Jêsus. 20 Pilate therefore, willing to release Jesus, spake again to them. 21 Nhưng họ la lên: “Đóng đinh! Hãy đóng đinh hắn!” 21 But they cried, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. Ta sẽ cho đánh đòn rồi thả người ra.” 22 And he said unto them the third time, Why, what evil hath he done? I have found no cause of death in him: I will therefore chastise him, and let him go. 23 Nhưng họ cứ la hét đòi đóng đinh Ngài, và tiếng la ó của họ đã thắng thế. 23 And they were instant with loud voices, requiring that he might be crucified. And the voices of them and of the chief priests prevailed. 24 Philatô quyết định chiều theo yêu cầu của họ: 24 And Pilate gave sentence that it should be as they required. 25 And he released unto them him that for sedition and murder was cast into prison, whom they had desired; but he delivered Jesus to their will.

10 And the chief priests and scribes stood and vehemently accused him. 11 And Herod with his men of war set him at nought, and mocked him, and arrayed him in a gorgeous robe, and sent him again to Pilate. 12 Hê-rốt và Phi-lát, vốn là kẻ thù của nhau cho đến ngày hôm ấy, bỗng trở thành bạn bè. 12 And the same day Pilate and Herod were made friends together: for before they were at enmity between themselves. 13 Phi-lát triệu tập các trưởng tế, các nhà lãnh đạo cùng dân chúng, 13 And Pilate, when he had called together the chief priests and the rulers and the people, 14 và tuyên bố với họ: "Các người đã giải người này đến trước ta như một kẻ xúi giục dân chúng nổi loạn. Ta đã xét xử ông ấy trước mặt các người và nhận thấy ông ấy hoàn toàn vô tội đối với những điều các người cáo buộc; 14 Said unto them, Ye have brought this man unto me, as one that perverteth the people: and, behold, I, having examined him before you, have found no fault in this man touching those things whereof ye accuse him: 15 Hê-rốt cũng vậy, vì ông ấy đã giải trả người này về cho chúng ta. Ông ấy không phạm bất cứ tội gì đáng phải chết." 15 No, nor yet Herod: for I sent you to him; and, lo, nothing worthy of death is done unto him.

Ông đã nghe nói về Ngài và hy vọng được thấy Ngài làm một phép lạ. 8 And when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceeding glad: for he was desirous to see him of a long season, because he had heard many things of him; and he hoped to have seen some miracle done by him. 9 Then he questioned with him in many words; but he answered him nothing.

6 When Pilate heard of Galilee, he asked whether the man were a Galilaean. 7 And as soon as he knew that he belonged unto Herod's jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod, who himself also was at Jerusalem at that time.

5 Nhưng họ cứ khăng khăng nói rằng: “Hắn xúi giục dân chúng, giảng dạy khắp vùng Giu-đê, bắt đầu từ Ga-li-lê cho đến tận nơi này.” 5 And they were the more fierce, saying, He stirreth up the people, teaching throughout all Jewry, beginning from Galilee to this place.

Đức Chúa Jêsus đáp: “Chính ông nói đó.” 3 And Pilate asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answered him and said, Thou sayest it.

2 Họ bắt đầu buộc tội ông rằng: “Chúng tôi thấy người này đang lôi kéo dân chúng đi sai đường, ngăn cản việc nộp thuế cho Sê-sa và tự xưng là Đấng Christ, là Vua.” 2 And they began to accuse him, saying, We found this fellow perverting the nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Caesar, saying that he himself is Christ a King.
