The angel said to Zechariah, 'Don't be afraid. God heard. Your wife Elizabeth will have a baby boy, and you will name him John. You will be happy, and lots of people will be happy when he is born. John will be a special person to God. He won't drink alcoholic beverages. The Holy Spirit will fill him even before he is born. 16 Giăng sẽ giúp con cái Y-sơ-ra-ên vâng lời Đức Chúa Trời. John will help Israel's children obey God. 17 Người sẽ bước đi trước Đấng Mê-si-a sắp đến, trong tinh thần và quyền năng của Ê-li, giúp người ta sống tốt, nghe lời cha mẹ và sẵn sàng đón Chúa.' He will walk before the coming Messiah, in the spirit and power of Elijah, helping people be good and listen to their parents, and get ready for the Lord.'
