Many people wrote stories about things that happened with our Lord Jesus Christ. They were told by people who saw and heard these things. I also looked into everything very carefully and wrote it down orderly for you, Mr. Theophilus. You can be sure about what you learned. 5 Thuở xưa, khi vua Hê-rô-đê cai trị xứ Giu-đê, có một người tên là Xa-cha-ri làm tư tế. A long time ago, when King Herod was in charge of Judea, there was a man named Zechariah who was a priest. He was married to a woman named Elizabeth, and they were both very good and followed God's rules. But even though they wanted children, Elizabeth couldn't have any because they were getting older.
