28 Ta bảo thật các ngươi, trong số những người do phụ nữ sinh ra, không ai lớn hơn Giăng. Tuy nhiên, người nhỏ nhất trong vương quốc của Đức Chúa Trời còn lớn hơn ông. 28 For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he. 29 (Khi nghe điều này, toàn thể dân chúng và những người thu thuế đều tuân theo lệnh công chính của Đức Chúa Trời, đã được dìm mình trong phép báp têm của Giăng. 29 And all the people that heard him, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John. 30 Nhưng những người Pha-ri-si và các luật sĩ đã từ chối lời khuyên của Đức Chúa Trời chống lại họ, không chịu phép báp têm của ông.) 30 But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized of him. 31 Ta sẽ so sánh thế hệ này với ai? Họ giống như thế nào? 31 And the Lord said, Whereunto then shall I liken the men of this generation? and to what are they like?
