1 Giao ước đầu tiên có các sắc lệnh về việc phục vụ và một đền thờ trên đất. 1 Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary. 2 Trong ngăn thứ nhất, được gọi là “Nơi Thánh,” có đèn, bàn, bánh thánh và bàn thờ bằng vàng để xông hương. 2 For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary. 3 Ngăn thứ hai, bên kia bức màn thứ hai, được gọi là “Nơi Chí Thánh.” 3 And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all; 4 Trong đó có hòm giao ước, được phủ vàng xung quanh. Trong hòm có bình vàng đựng ma-na, cây gậy trổ hoa của A-rôn và các bảng giao ước. 4 Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron's rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant; 5 Các thần hộ giá vinh quang đứng ở hai đầu hòm, che phủ nắp thi ân. 5 And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercyseat; of which we cannot now speak particularly. 6 Các thầy tế lễ thường xuyên vào ngăn thứ nhất để thực hiện các nghi lễ. 6 Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God. 7 Nhưng chỉ có thầy tế lễ thượng phẩm vào ngăn thứ hai, và chỉ một lần trong năm, không được quên mang theo huyết, mà ông dâng vì chính mình và vì tội lỗi mà dân chúng vô tình phạm phải. 7 But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people: 8 Bằng cách này, Đức Thánh Linh cho thấy rằng đường vào Nơi Chí Thánh vẫn chưa được mở ra khi ngăn thứ nhất vẫn còn. 8 The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing: 9 Ngăn thứ nhất là sự so sánh trong thời hiện tại, trong đó các lễ vật và của lễ được dâng lên không thể hoàn thiện lương tâm của người thờ phượng. 9 Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience; 10 Chúng chỉ ảnh hưởng đến các nghi lễ xác thịt (thức ăn, đồ uống và các loại rửa khác nhau) được ban cho đến thời điểm của trật tự mới. 10 Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation. 11 Nhưng sau khi Đấng Christ xuất hiện như một thầy tế lễ thượng phẩm của những điều tốt lành đến qua đền tạm lớn hơn và hoàn hảo, không phải do tay người làm ra (tức là không phải của sự sáng tạo này, 11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; 12 cũng không phải bằng huyết của dê đực và bò con, nhưng bằng chính huyết của Ngài), Ngài đã vào Nơi Chí Thánh một lần cho tất cả thời gian, đạt được sự cứu chuộc đời đời. 12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. 13 Nếu huyết của dê đực và bò đực, và tro của bò cái tơ rảy trên người ô uế, khiến xác thịt trở nên tinh sạch, 13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: 14 huống chi huyết của Đấng Christ, là Đấng nhờ Đức Thánh Linh đời đời dâng chính mình không tì vết cho Đức Chúa Trời, sẽ làm sạch lương tâm chúng ta khỏi những công việc chết để phục vụ Đức Chúa Trời hằng sống biết bao? 14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
