​41 Hằng năm, cha mẹ Người đến Giêrusalem để dự lễ Vượt Qua. 41 Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover. 42 Khi Người được mười hai tuổi, cha mẹ Người lên Giêrusalem theo tục lệ của lễ. 42 And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast. 43 Sau khi những ngày ấy đã mãn và họ trở về, Hài Nhi Giêsu vẫn ở lại Giêrusalem, nhưng cha mẹ Người không biết. 43 And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it. 44 Họ nghĩ rằng Người ở trong đoàn lữ hành, nên đã đi một ngày đường. Sau khi tìm kiếm Người trong số những người bà con và người quen biết, 44 But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day's journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance. 45 không tìm thấy Người, họ trở về Giêrusalem và tiếp tục tìm kiếm Người. 45 And when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him. 46 Ba ngày sau, họ tìm thấy Người trong đền thờ đang ngồi giữa các thầy thông giáo, vừa lắng nghe họ vừa hỏi. 46 And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions. 47 Tất cả những người nghe Người đều ngạc nhiên về sự hiểu biết và những câu trả lời của Người. 47 And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers. 48 Họ thấy Người và rất ngạc nhiên. Mẹ Người nói với Người rằng: "Con ơi, sao con lại làm như vậy với chúng ta? Cha con và mẹ đã đau buồn tìm kiếm Con". 48 And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing. 49 Người trả lời: "Sao cha mẹ lại tìm con? Cha mẹ không biết rằng con phải lo việc của Cha con sao?" 49 And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business? 50 Họ không hiểu lời Người vừa nói với họ. 50 And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them. 51 Ngài đi xuống cùng cha mẹ đến Na-xa-rét và vâng phục các ngài. Mẹ Ngài ghi nhớ tất cả những điều ấy trong lòng. 51 And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart. 52 Đức Giê-su ngày càng khôn ngoan, cao lớn và được Thiên Chúa và loài người thương mến. 52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.
