25 Sẽ có những dấu hiệu trên mặt trời, mặt trăng và các ngôi sao, và trên đất sẽ có sự đau khổ của các dân tộc trong sự hoang mang khi nghe thấy tiếng biển và tiếng sóng vỗ. 25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

23 Trong những ngày ấy, khốn thay cho những người đang mang thai hoặc đang cho con bú! Đất nước sẽ gặp nhiều đau khổ và dân này sẽ nổi giận. 23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people. 24 Chúng sẽ ngã xuống bởi lưỡi gươm và bị bắt làm tù binh đưa đi khắp các nước. Giê-ru-sa-lem sẽ bị dân ngoại giày xéo cho đến khi thời kỳ của chúng được hoàn thành. 24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
20 Khi các ngươi thấy Giê-ru-sa-lem bị quân đội bao vây, hãy biết rằng sự tàn phá của nó đã gần kề. 20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. 21 Bấy giờ, những người ở Giu-đê hãy chạy trốn lên núi, những người ở trong thành hãy ra khỏi thành, và những người ở ngoài thành đừng vào lại, 21 Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto. 22 vì những ngày trừng phạt ấy là sự ứng nghiệm của mọi điều đã được chép trong Kinh Thánh. 22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
14 Vậy nên, hãy quyết tâm trong lòng đừng chuẩn bị trước cách tự vệ, 14 Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer: 15 vì ta sẽ ban cho các ngươi miệng lưỡi và sự khôn ngoan mà không kẻ thù nào của các ngươi có thể chống lại hay phản bác được. 15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist. 16 Các ngươi sẽ bị cha mẹ, anh em, bà con và bạn bè phản bội; một số người trong các ngươi sẽ bị giết. 16 And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.17 Các ngươi sẽ bị mọi người ghét bỏ vì danh ta, 18 nhưng không một sợi tóc nào trên đầu các ngươi sẽ bị mất. 19 Các ngươi sẽ giữ được linh hồn mình nhờ sự kiên nhẫn.
10 Rồi Ngài tiếp tục: Dân này sẽ nổi dậy chống dân kia, nước này chống nước nọ. 10 Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: 11 Sẽ có những trận động đất lớn, nạn đói lan rộng và dịch bệnh; sẽ có những điều kinh khủng và những dấu lạ lớn trên trời. 11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven. 12 Trước tất cả những điều đó, họ sẽ bắt bớ và bức hại các ngươi, nộp các ngươi vào các hội đường, dẫn các ngươi ra trước mặt các vua và quan tổng đốc vì danh Ta. 12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake. 13 Điều đó sẽ làm chứng cho các ngươi. 13 And it shall turn to you for a testimony.
7 Họ hỏi Ngài: “Thưa Thầy, khi nào những điều ấy sẽ xảy ra, và dấu hiệu nào cho biết những điều ấy sắp xảy ra?” 7 And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass? 8 Ngài đáp: “Hãy coi chừng, kẻo các ngươi bị lừa dối, vì nhiều người sẽ đến nhân danh Ta, nói rằng: ‘Ta là Đấng đó’, và ‘Thời kỳ đã gần đến’. Đừng đi theo họ. 8 And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them. 9 Cũng vậy, khi các ngươi nghe nói về chiến tranh và hỗn loạn, đừng sợ hãi, vì những điều ấy phải đến trước, chứ sự cuối cùng chưa đến ngay.” 9 But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.
1 Ông ngước mắt lên và thấy những người giàu có bỏ tiền quyên góp vào kho bạc, 1 And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury. 2 và ông thấy một bà góa nghèo bỏ vào đó hai đồng tiền nhỏ bằng đồng, 2 And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites. 3 và ông nói: “Thật vậy, ta bảo các ngươi, bà góa nghèo này đã dâng nhiều hơn tất cả những người khác, 3 And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all: 4 vì tất cả những người kia đều dâng từ sự dư dật của mình, còn bà ấy thì dâng từ sự nghèo khó của mình, thậm chí là tất cả những gì bà ấy có để sống.” 4 For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had. 5 Một số người nói về những viên đá đẹp và những vật dâng cúng trang hoàng đền thờ, và Chúa Giê-su nói: 5 And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said, 6 “Về những điều các ngươi thấy đây, sẽ đến ngày không còn một viên đá nào của đền thờ còn nằm trên viên đá nào khác.” 6 As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
39 Một số kinh sư đáp: “Thưa Thầy, Thầy nói rất đúng.” 39 Then certain of the scribes answering said, Master, thou hast well said. 40 Không ai dám hỏi Người thêm điều gì nữa. 40 And after that they durst not ask him any question at all. 41 Rồi Người hỏi họ: “Sao người ta lại gọi Đấng Christ là con cháu Đa-vít? 41 And he said unto them, How say they that Christ is David's son? 42 Chính Đa-vít đã nói trong sách Thi thiên: ‘Chúa phán với Chúa tôi rằng: Hãy ngồi bên hữu Ta, 42 And David himself saith in the book of Psalms, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, 43 cho đến khi Ta đặt kẻ thù ngươi dưới chân ngươi.’ 43 Till I make thine enemies thy footstool. 44 Nếu Đa-vít gọi Người là ‘Chúa’, thì làm sao Người lại là con cháu của ông?” 44 David therefore calleth him Lord, how is he then his son? 45 Trong khi tất cả dân chúng đang lắng nghe, Người nói với các môn đệ: 45 Then in the audience of all the people he said unto his disciples, 46 “Hãy coi chừng các kinh sư, những người thích mặc áo dài, thích được chào hỏi ở nơi công cộng, thích ngồi ghế danh dự trong hội đường và chỗ cao trọng nhất trong các bữa tiệc. 46 Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts; 47 Họ nuốt hết tài sản của các bà góa và cầu nguyện dài dòng chỉ để phô trương. Những người ấy sẽ phải chịu hình phạt nặng hơn.” 47 Which devour widows' houses, and for a shew make long prayers: the same shall receive greater damnation.
34 Chúa Giê-su đáp: “Con cái thế gian này cưới vợ gả chồng, 34 And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage: 35 nhưng những người được kể là xứng đáng hưởng thế giới tương lai và sự sống lại từ cõi chết thì không cưới vợ gả chồng nữa; 35 But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: 36 họ cũng không thể chết nữa, vì họ giống như các thiên sứ, và là con cái của Đức Chúa Trời, vì họ là con cái của sự sống lại. 36 Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection. 37 Nhưng về việc người chết được sống lại, ngay cả Môi-se cũng đã nói đến điều đó trong câu chuyện về bụi gai cháy, khi ông gọi Chúa là ‘Đức Chúa Trời của Áp-ra-ham, Đức Chúa Trời của Y-sác và Đức Chúa Trời của Gia-cốp’. 37 Now that the dead are raised, even Moses shewed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob 38 Đức Chúa Trời không phải là Đức Chúa Trời của người chết, mà là của người sống. Đối với Ngài, tất cả mọi người đều sống.” 38 For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him.
27 Một số người thuộc phái Sa-đu-xê, những người không tin vào sự sống lại, đến hỏi ông: 27 Then came to him certain of the Sadducees, which deny that there is any resurrection; and they asked him, 28 Thưa Thầy, Môi-se đã viết cho chúng ta rằng: “Nếu anh em của một người đàn ông chết mà không có con, để lại vợ, thì người anh em đó phải cưới vợ của người đã chết để sinh con nối dõi cho anh mình.” 28 Saying, Master, Moses wrote unto us, If any man's brother die, having a wife, and he die without children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother. 29 Nay có bảy anh em: người thứ nhất cưới vợ rồi chết mà không có con; 29 There were therefore seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and died without children. 30 người thứ hai, 30 And the second took her to wife, and he died childless. 31 và người thứ ba cũng cưới người vợ ấy; cũng vậy, cả bảy người đều chết mà không có con. 31 And the third took her; and in like manner the seven also: and they left no children, and died. 32 Sau cùng, người vợ cũng chết. 32 Last of all the woman died also. 33 Vậy trong sự sống lại, người vợ ấy sẽ thuộc về ai? Vì cả bảy người đều đã cưới bà ấy làm vợ. 33 Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of them is she? for seven had her to wife.
