39 Một tà linh nhập vào nó, và đột nhiên nó kêu lên, co giật, sùi bọt mép. Tà linh làm nó bầm dập, và hầu như không rời khỏi nó. 40 Tôi đã cầu xin các môn đồ của Thầy đuổi tà linh ra, nhưng họ không đuổi được. 41 Đức Chúa Jêsus đáp rằng: “Hỡi thế hệ vô tín và gian tà kia! Ta còn ở với các ngươi và chịu đựng các ngươi cho đến bao giờ? Hãy đem con ngươi lại đây!” 42 Khi Ngài đang đến, quỷ dữ xé xác và vật mạnh Ngài ra. Đức Chúa Jêsus quở trách tà linh ô uế, chữa lành đứa trẻ, và trả nó lại cho cha nó. 43 Toàn dân đều kinh ngạc trước sự uy nghiêm của Đức Chúa Trời. Trong khi dân chúng đang kinh ngạc về mọi việc Người làm, Người nói với các môn đệ rằng: 44 “Các con hãy nghe cho kỹ: Con Người sắp bị nộp vào tay loài người.” 45 Nhưng họ không hiểu lời Người nói, và lời Người còn bị che giấu, để họ không nhận ra. Họ sợ không dám hỏi Người về ý nghĩa của lời Người.

32 Phi-e-rơ và những người đi cùng ông đang ngủ say. Khi tỉnh dậy, họ thấy vinh quang của Ngài và hai người đang đứng với Ngài. 32 But Peter and they that were with him were heavy with sleep: and when they were awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him. 33 Khi hai người sắp rời đi, Phi-e-rơ nói với Chúa Giê-xu, "Thưa Thầy, chúng con ở đây thì tốt lắm. Chúng con xin dựng ba chỗ ở, một cho Thầy, một cho Môi-se và một cho Ê-li." And they kept it close, and told no man in those days any of those things which they had seen. 37 Đến sáng, họ xuống núi và có một đám đông lớn đón gặp họ. 37 And it came to pass, that on the next day, when they were come down from the hill, much people met him. 38 Kìa! Một người trong đám đông kêu lên rằng: Lạy Thầy, tôi xin Thầy đoái xem con trai tôi, đứa con duy nhất của tôi. 38 And, behold, a man of the company cried out, saying, Master, I beseech thee, look upon my son: for he is mine only child.
28 Khoảng tám ngày sau khi nói những lời này, Ngài đem Phi-e-rơ, Giăng và Gia-cơ lên núi để cầu nguyện. 28 And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray. 29 Trong khi Ngài đang cầu nguyện, diện mạo Ngài đổi khác, và áo Ngài trở nên trắng tinh và sáng chói. 29 And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering. 30 Kìa! 23 Ngài tuyên bố với toàn dân rằng: "Nếu ai muốn theo Ta, hãy từ bỏ chính mình, vác thập tự giá mình hằng ngày mà theo Ta. 23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. 24 Ai muốn cứu mạng sống mình thì sẽ mất; còn ai mất mạng sống mình vì Ta thì sẽ cứu được mạng sống ấy. 24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. 25 Người nào được lợi cả thế gian mà lại mất chính mình hay bị bỏ rơi thì có ích gì? 25 For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away? 26 Ai hổ thẹn vì Ta và lời Ta, thì Con Người cũng sẽ hổ thẹn vì người ấy khi Người ngự đến trong vinh quang của Người, của Cha và của các thiên sứ thánh. 26 For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels. 27 Thật vậy, Ta bảo các ngươi, một số người đứng đây sẽ không chết trước khi thấy vương quốc của Đức Chúa Trời. 27 But I tell you of a truth, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God.
