11 Chúng tôi mong muốn mỗi người trong anh em đều tỏ ra lòng sốt sắng như vậy, hướng đến sự bảo đảm trọn vẹn của niềm hy vọng cho đến cùng, 11 And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: 12 để anh em không lười biếng, nhưng hãy noi gương những người nhờ lòng trung tín và lòng kiên nhẫn mà thừa hưởng những lời hứa. 12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. 13 Khi Đức Chúa Trời hứa với Áp-ra-ham, vì không thể chỉ ai lớn hơn mà thề, nên Ngài đã chỉ chính mình Ngài mà thề rằng: 13 For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself, 14 Ta chắc chắn sẽ ban phước cho ngươi. 14 Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee. 15 Theo cách này, sau khi Áp-ra-ham đã kiên nhẫn chịu đựng, ông đã nhận được lời hứa. 15 And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.
